What is Kydex?
Kydex is a line of thermoplastic acrylic-polyvinyl chloride materials manufactured by Kydex LLC. It has a wide variety of applications, including for firearm holsters and sheaths for knives.
Kydex sheet was originally produced in 1965 by Rohm and Haas, having been designed for use in aircraft interiors. In 1987, the product line was purchased by Kydex, LLC, formerly Kleerdex Company, LLC, which manufactures the material at a location in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
Why Kydex?
KYDEX holsters are virtually maintenance-free. If a KYDEX holster gets dirty or dusty, you wash it off and wipe it down. KYDEX holsters are ready to use right away; they don’t have a “break in”period. They will maintain the desired shape over a lifetime of use. What you see is what you get and what you get is what you’ll see even after years of hard use.

scratch resistant
holds its shape better, and will not stretch or shrink under normal conditions
low friction.
Will Kydex damage my guns finish?
Sadly no matter what type of holster you use, over time, they will ALL wear the finish of your gun.. it is unavoidable. Will a Kydex holster wear you finish faster then a fabric holster? No not if made correctly, at HW we ensure that all our holsters are designed with enough clearance to avoid this as much as possible. In summary, our holsters will not wear your finish any quicker then a fabric holster if regularly cleaned.
How long will my order take to be made?
99% of all our orders are custom made to order (except grenade holders & M4 style mag inserts as listed on website) this is due to size, light options and colour variants etc.
Normal order time is 2-3 weeks for holsters from date of order (before shipping) however this may vary from time to time depending on workload. (Current lead times are shown at checkout)
(these times exclude grenade holders which will normally ship in around a week)
Is there anything i need to do to my Kydex holster?
Not much really.... Depending on what type of holster you have ordered (fold over or two piece) if you have ordered a fold over style holster the first thing you will need to do is adjust the two screws to set your desired retention level, if you have ordered a two piece style holster there is nothing to do to set up your holster. With both types of holsters it is recommend to check your mounting screws periodically and with a micro fiber cloth and a small amount of silicone spray clean the inside of the holster of dirt & dust.
Will my holster deform if left in the sun?
Not likely in the UK! Kydex starts to soften around 100 F so care should be taken not to leave in direct sunlight inside a car on a hot day, other then that your fine!
Ive damaged/bent/played with my holster can you repair it?

I've lost a part, can you help?
We currently dont have parts listed on the website but if you have lost a screw, post or mounting washer etc. please E mail us and we can arrange to have a replacement part shipped out to you.

We can cancel your order if you change your mind but this will need to be done within 24 hours of placing the order (as your order may have been started after this point)
